KARHU CROSS COUNTRY SKI

In 1916, Karhu produced skis, which were some of the first items manufactured in a small workshop located in downtown Helsinki. There, locally sourced birch was transformed into winter forms of transport.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKI

Because the skis were of such high quality, the Finnish army and world champions like, Harri Kirvesniemi, chose to wear Karhu on their feet. Kirvesniemi remains part of the Karhu family as the official licensee of the Karhu ski division, which has helped shape the brand. In welcoming the coming winter snowfall, we launch the Cross-Country Ski Pack 2.

FRESH LOOK

The Cross-Country Ski Pack consists of two Aria 95s and two Synchron Classics. Each colour palette is inspired by the bright pops featured in the cross-country ski designs of the 90s and 00s. The material selection for the Aria 95s and one Synchron Classic consists of a mix of pigskin suede, water repellent nylon and breathable mesh. The remaining Synchron Classic (F802644) comes with a balance construction of pigskin suede and mesh. Together, the collection offers a fresh look on popular Karhu silhouettes.

 KITEE

The Karhu team visited the Karhu Ski Factory in Kitee, a small Finnish town in the east of Finland. Both the factory and the Kitee Sports Centre’ outdoor facilities, the cross-country ski training location, serve as the backdrop to the photo shoot of the Cross-Country Ski Pack II.

The second part of the Cross-Country Pack will release globally on Friday, October 4th 2019 at select retailers, Karhu.com and the Karhu Concept Store in Helsinki.
