KARHU X ENGINEERED GARMENTS:
The shoe features a unique, slip-on design with a secure cover and hook and loop closure system, which is inspired by another 80s KARHU cross-country skiing model.
Engineered Garments was founded by Daiki Suzuki in New York in 1999, after taking inspiration from his years buying for the Nepenthes store in its early stages, and combining it with his own vision.
"As a brand, our aim is to make garments that become more personal through the experiences you have with them. We value unique garment construction with attention to detail, with meaning and hidden qualities behind each design. We venture into conflicting themes, straying from the 'perfect design'. We are not designed but engineered."
Drawing from KARHU's rich archive, Engineered Garments founder, Daiki Suzuki, seamlessly merges the historic Mestari 76 running shoe with KARHU's cross-country ski shoe, the Sprint, in an eye-catching asymmetric design.
This partnership offers a bold reinterpretation of KARHU's heritage, blending past and present with Engineered Garment's signature craftsmanship.
Additionally, each shoe in the pair has a leather lining, a leather-topped foam footbed with arch support, and collaborative branding.
Both colourways utilize a mix of hairy suede, suede, and nylon in the upper for a premium finish.
The latest collection features a more muted, earth-toned aesthetic that honours both brands' storied history of craftsmanship.
Now available online, at our concept stores in Helsinki, Tokyo, Turin, Cuneo, and all Nepenthes retail and online stores.
