MARJA-LIISA KIRVESNIEMI
Eventhought Marja-Liisa Kirveniemi, born in 1955, quit her career as a professional athlete in 1991 she is still one of the synonyms for Finnish Cross Country skiing. She is still the most successful Finnish female athlete ever with her seven Olympic medals, three of them golds and nine Wold Championship medals. Together with his beloved husband Harri they have 180 medals from finnish National Championship, 33 medals from Olympic and World Championship and a beautiful daughter Elina, promising athlete herself too. Finnish cross country skiing would not exist without these two honourable characters.
