Click to read more >>On a humid and windy day in Ft. Lauderdale, the Karhu Bear fought through the elements to finish the Karhu 5k in 24 minutes. Coincidentally, he also finished in 24th place. The first 10 lucky finishers who outlasted the bear earned a free pair of Karhu shoes for their effort. Seasoned local runner Paul Marmaro, who became the Karhu Bear for the day, said that this effort in the heavy and fur-laden bear suit was harder than the Olympic Trials prep training he did while in his prime!

THE first Helsinki City Marathon was organized in 1981 with 1,574 runners. In August 2010 the event celebrated it's 30th Anniversary.
