PHOTO ALERT - Bear Finishes in 10th Place!
March 19, 2011 – Karhu means ‘bear’ in Finnish and today the bear came out of hibernation to challenge racers to beat him across the finish line during the Run Wild 5k in Atlanta.
The Karhu Bear finished in tenth place out of 842 runners with a time of 20:02. The runners who beat him all received a free pair of Karhu running shoes and “I beat the bear” t-shirt for their achievement in “Beating the Karhu Bear”.
The Run Wild 5k challenge is part of the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon weekend festivities.
